How to use the new fetch as google tool in google webmaster

Fetch as Google tool is a tool, that enables bloggers to request a fresh reindexing process on google webmaster.

The new fetch as Google tool in the new Google webmaster has similar functions just like the previous old fetch as Google tool.

The old fetch as Google tool is replaced in the new fetch as Google as a "URL inspector tool", but still performs the same reindexing request functions.

This new fetch as Google tool has the same picture captcha puzzle. procedure process. But still performs the same activities, just like the old fetch as Google tool in google webmaster.

Unlike the old fetch as Google tool in the google webmaster, where fetch and render is seen and are requested. But in this new fetch as Google tool, fetch and render button is not fixed, but the fetch and render function is done automatically by the google webmaster tool bots.

Also, in the old fetch as Google tool, after you have pasted your preferred URL page for indexing in the URL box, and after you must have clicked on the red button " fetch and render " in the old fetch as Google tool, you will see a request indexing question button in the fetched URL you provided before indexing process.

But in the new fetch as Google tool, that request indexing is quite simpler, here you don't need to go through those long process, all you need to do is to copy your preferred URL, log on to the new Google webmaster, on the top right menu button, search for the URL inspector button or tool and click on it.

When it opens, paste your URL in the search box opened for you after you clicked on the URL inspector button, then it will start fetching or processing it (this may take up to 10seconds or less), then when it's done, you will be told if the URL is indexed already or not.

If not indexed, you will see a bold "REQUEST INDEXING" link on that page, click on it (if you want to index it), then wait for up to 2-3 minutes as the case may be.

If the process is almost complete, you will be asked to solve a picture recaptcha puzzle, solve it and when solving is done successfully, you will get a message that indexing is completed.

Differences between the old fetch as Google tool vs the new fetch as Google tool in google webmaster

1) Name-:

The new fetch as Google tool name is replaced in the new Google webmaster as "URL inspector tool".

                               While

The old fetch as Google tool name remains to fetch as Google.

2) Fetch and render process-:

The old fetch as Google tool, fetch and rendering processes are shown clearly, and the processes are done manually by you when you paste your URL, you'll have to click on the fetch and render button.

But, for the new fetch as Google tool, fetch and render activities comprises of both manual input at first, but the rest procedures will be done by Google bots.

All you have to do in the new fetch as Google tool is to paste your preferred URL page for indexing, then a brief scanning will be carried out to know if your URL is already indexed on your Google webmaster or not.

If it isn't, then you will have to request for indexing on that same page, easy right?

3) Indexing processes-:

In the old fetch as Google tool, indexing processes are faster,
While in the new fetch as Google tool, indexing processes take up to 3minutes (total indexing processes).

How to use the new Fetch as Google tool

As I said earlier from my introduction, the new fetch as Google tool is cool to use but tricky (for a new user).

In this tutorial content, I will teach you how to use this new fetch as Google tool.

Steps on how to use this google webmaster tool

First step

Log on to the new google webmaster-:

I must believe that using this new fetch as Google tool, you must have registered with google webmaster, and if you don't have an account with the tool, this will help you out; "how to ask Google to reindex my site's pages".

Second step

Select your preferred site to work on-:

After you have successfully logged in to your google webmaster account, you will see your added site's properties on the google webmaster.

Site properties, are those submitted sitemaps you submit on Google webmaster, these properties or sitemap(s), carries every detail of your site such as your site's homepage, your site's posts, your site's images, etc.

This submitted sitemaps on google webmaster site property tools, stores your detailed site URL pages, for further functions like indexing, structure marking, crawling, etc, on your site, and this helps ranking process as well on google search engine.

For you to continue to fetch as google activities, you need to click on the URL of your site, you want to work on.

Third step

Click on the URL inspector button, copy and paste your URL page you want to request indexing-:

For this step, what is required of you to do here, is to go to your site's page, copy the URL of your post, page, or video, you want to index.

Then go to Google webmaster, on the URL inspector button, click it. A search line will pop out, paste the copied URL, and click on your OK/or enter cursor or key, on your computer.

A check will be done for a short time (this is to check that your submitted URL is already featured on google webmaster,

or if it's already indexed on google webmaster or not), if it is, you will get a notification message on that page that your URL is seen/or available on google webmaster just like the picture shown below;

but if it's not..., then you will have to proceed to the next step;

Fourth step

Click on the Request indexing button-:

On that same page (fetch as google new page), you will see a "Request indexing" button, click it (only if you get a notification that your URL page is not indexed or available on the google webmaster tool), then a new scanning process will be made on that new fetch as Google tool, this is to index your page.

This process might take up to 2-3 minutes only (in the new fetch as Google tool) for indexing to take place. When scanning is done successfully, you will have to solve a picture captcha puzzle.

Fifth step

Solve a picture captcha puzzle-:

When that is done successfully, then you are on the final stage,

Sixth step

Request indexing successful-:

When the fifth step is done successfully, and after you've clicked on verify in the picture captcha puzzle, they will be the last scanning process.

When this is done, you are good to go (your page will be indexed). That's all.
